Data downloads

All of our data, including the results of the Corporate Tax Haven Index, is available for download in Excel format through our data portal.

Non-commercial users (e.g., scholars, journalists, NGOs, International Organizations, governmental institutions) can access the data free of cost after registration. Our data can be cited as "Ates L., Cobham A., Harari M., Janský P., Meinzer M., Millan-Narotzky L., Palanský M. 2021. The Corporate Tax Haven Index: A New Geography of Profit Shifting. In B. Unger, L. Russel, J. Ferwerda (Eds.), Combatting Fiscal Fraud and Empowering Regulators. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press."

Commercial users (e.g. investment banks, credit risks, etc) can access the data after registration and a one-time fee for this version of the index. General guidance on what constitutes commercial use of the data can be found here. We would regard most use of the data by a for-profit financial institution (such as for an internal risk assessment by a bank) as commercial use, as well as the inclusion of CTHI 2021 data in any product or service that is sold to third parties (including to existing clients who are paying for a service that might include access to CTHI 2021 data in the future). We do not regard the reproduction of CTHI 2021 data in paid-for media articles as commercial use, however.

How to access the data:

Step 1: Register in our data portal and select "CTHI" in the Data Sources. Please describe in detail the way you intend to use the data.

Step 2: Follow the instructions on the screen to verify your email.

Step 3: We will verify your registration and either grant you access to the database (non-commercial users) or send a quote (commercial users and users who registered as non-commercial in error). We aim to grant access within 72 hours of registration.

Step 4: Log in to our data portal and download the data.
